Our Mokka coffee comes from Honduras, carefully produced by the Caballero family, who has been working for years in the experimentation and adaptation of varieties at their renowned Finca el Puente farm.

The Mokka variety is a mutation of the Typica that is commonly cultivated in Brazil and Hawaii, it is not a very resistant variety to the most common diseases and has a low productivity.

Outside Yemen, the coffee was called Mokka, not because it tasted of chocolate as is sometimes thought,
but because all the coffee that was exported from the 15th century to the end of the 18th century was exported through the port of Mokka.

Where’s it from

Finca El Puente was founded by a couple - Moises Herrara and Marysabel Caballero. Tradition has it that the name derives from the presence in the Finca of a bridge so for all those who worked there, that land was called "Finca El Puente", therefore for all the people who work in the finca, that land was called "Finca El Puente ". After years of indecision about how to name their business, they decided that there was no more suitable name than Finca El Puente, a name they believe is a bridge between producer and roaster to offer coffee to the final consumer.

In the moment you chose our coffee, you decided to become part of the journey, a journey that begins in a faraway place and that ends here, in the cup that you are holding in your hands. We started it, your task is to end it, to take the final step: the tasting.
